Camp Bloom Jr.: Home for the Holidays
The fall session of Camp Bloom, Jr. after-school classes was great fun and resulted in such gorgeous nature-inspired creations…so, we are doing it again!
“Home for the Holidays” will be held on four consecutive Mondays in November and December from 4:30PM-5:30PM. In the first session, campers will create beautiful centerpieces to enhance their family Thanksgiving table settings. The next three classes will focus on holiday gifts. Campers will make three flower-forward gifts along with decorated gift bags and tags…so, they will leave the final class with three handmade gifts completely ready to give the lucky recipients. Each craft or activity will use a different artistic technique and material, and each will allow participants to appreciate the natural world around us in new ways. These sessions are most enjoyable for kids in grades 3-8. Multiple COVID protocols are in place for the health and safety of all participants.
Likely activities include:
-creating unique flower/vegetable centerpieces and four fall-inspired napkin rings for Thanksgiving -crafting three holiday gift bags and tags using collage techniques, paint, felt, cutouts, and ink -decorating personal portraits with dried floral embellishments -molding floral scented bath bombs -making charming hand-crafted ornaments to brighten any holiday home
Come to The Center and celebrate a Holiday at Home with us!
Class dates are four Mondays:
November 23, 30 & December 7, 14, 2020
Cost per camper for all four sessions is $80. *we must register five campers to hold classes; no more than 8 campers can register. Camp Bloom events fill quickly, so grab a friend and register soon!
Attendees must commit to all four sessions due to the need to purchase materials in advance. If an absence is necessary, a friend or relative can attend instead. Projects may differ from those listed above due to supply availability…or a cooler idea coming up!

Andrea started her studio florist business two years ago and has made hundreds of arrangements for weddings, holidays, non-profit fund-raising events, holidays and more. She taught in the Virginia public schools for thirty-five years, including the last twenty years at Gandy Elementary in Ashland. Her Camp Bloom events for kids combine her two big work passions perfectly!
My girls absolutely loved Camp Bloom!! Every day they came home with some sort of fresh flower arrangement or flower-themed craft. I don’t know how they did everything they did in just three hours a day.
Everything Andrea and her sisters did was top-notch! It was a very well thought out and well done camp. My girls are ready to go back now! They blew my mind with all the activities, and opportunities for the girls.
Thank you for your interest in Camp Bloom. Unfortunately camp is now full. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to place your child on a waiting list.
