Join Honeygirl Flowers at the Hanover Arts and Activities Center for a week of flower fun! Sessions will run the week of July 8th from 9 a.m.-noon. Campers (rising third through eighth-graders) will learn the basics of creating beautiful flower arrangements in vases, of course, but flowers can be used for so much more! We will create:
- fresh flower crowns, hand-tied bouquets, and fresh flower jewelry…
- felt flowers for floral barrettes and headbands, painted flower designs, embossed flower images, hand-crafted paper flowers, and more…
- decorated cookies and cupcakes with flower designs and our own homemade floral ice-cream.
We will also delve into the science of flowers by dissecting them to take a look inside, and we will explore ways to design and plant gardens.
We will leave the Center behind for several walking field trips to local gardens and shops and hear from a variety of local experts and business owners about how they work with flowers and sell their own blooms.
Andrea Ferment taught full-time in the public school system for 35 years, including the last 20 as a fifth-grade teacher in Ashland. She still teaches science resource classes at Gandy Elementary on a part-time basis. Several veteran teachers will assist her daily at Camp Bloom.
Cost of the week-long camp is $150.
Please register below. We accept checks or credit cards. You may choose to make a $50 downpayment with the rest of the tuition due by July 1, 2019 or you may choose to make the tuition payment in full.
